American folk carved cane with angled L handle carved as the head of a dog with a duck's bill, inset with bead eyes and trace of rose pigment, of a piece with crooked branch shaft, 33 5/8" H.; together with a carved ebony cane with L handle modeled as a hound's head, joined to a shaft with relief carving on the upper portion, horn tip, 35 3/4" H.
Condition reportthe first with thin varnish, considerably rubbed, and with checks in the shaft, the second with a chipped ear, submit inquiry
