Two canes with dog's head handles and knobby shafts: 1) American vernacular cherry, with hooked handle carved as a hunting dog's head with glass eyes, the upper portion of the shaft with a game bag and percussion rifle carved in relief, also bored for a carrying strap, fitted with metal surrounds, 32 3/4" H.; 2) Knob head carved as a bulldog, with large glass eyes, joined to shaft at a broad brass collar, brass ferrule, 33 5/8" H.

1) warm rubbed patina, scattered checks; 2) varnish finish flaking off, considerable wear consistent with use, submit inquiry
