This note can be pedigreed back to Bowers & Merena's Einstein sale of June 1986 (lot 4120) and R.M. Smythe in September 1997. This issue is listed as counterfeit in Newman, but there has always been a difference of opinion as to whether they were actually counterfeits or an unauthorized contemporary reissue. We will stick with Newman as we don't proclaim to be experts. Masterfully restored and attractive.
