This incredible note has been off the market since Mr. Mayer wisely purchased it from the CAA 1995 Memphis sale. That auction company described it as follows. "An excessively rare one-bank town which is on the want list of virtually every collector of Colorado notes. We have recorded only one offering of any kind from here over the past 50 years, that coming almost 25 years ago (in 1971, to be exact) when a small size $20 was offered for sale on a fixed price list. Evenly circulated VG, with no problems whatever, a great note worthy of whatever price it brings." No other large size has surfaced since then, and this note is still the only piece in the census. The next owner will surely regard this rarity as one of his smart buys 10 years from now.
