This early chartered bank is surprisingly difficult to locate outside of the Territorial issues and the 1929 series notes. That is due to the fact that most of the state issued large size was in $50 and $100 Red Seals and 1902 Datebacks. There were 4,140 sheets of Brownbacks issued, but it seems none survived. This note is unique for the bank in type and denomination, and one of just four $100 1902 Datebacks known for the entire state. The only other state issued large size note reported is an uncirculated $50 Brownback whose location is unknown. So if you don't want to spend the money that a CU $50 Brownback or a Territorial would command, then this is your one and only chance to pick up a large note on this charter. Strong signatures of Berger and Sheedy. An undervalued and under appreciated rarity.
