When I first offered this amazing note in the 2006 Memphis sale, it sold for a record $54,625. That is what happens when great rarity, superb condition, a perfect title and a great location all come together in one note. If you are assembling the ultimate state capital set, what better note is there than one from the Capitol National Bank? Even though there were nearly 10,000 sheets printed with this title, only two other notes are reported. The First National Bank of Denver assumed the circulation of this bank when it closed in 1912, and no doubt spent the next 20 years pulling from circulation all the notes they could from this institution. Well centered and with great stamped signatures.
