This is a very scarce type for Colorado, with just 14 $10 1882 Valuebacks recorded from the entire state. Two of those 14 pieces are from this bank, with the most recent sale being the other $10 VB (an XF) in my October 2006 sale. That note sold for $11,500 after considerable bidding. This lovely example would be a close match to that note if the surfaces were a bit cleaner. This is a better bank as well, with just over a dozen large notes in the census. A wonderful opportunity to obtain a scarce Colorado type in a grade that is exceeded only by one other piece.
