Only two of the four national banks in Durango have notes reported, and this is the better one. Nine notes are reported on this bank and none are better, save for a serial #1 $10 1902 Dateback in XF/AU that would cost multiples of this example. High grades always bring a premium, and I expect that will be as true this time as it was when our consignor battled for this note at the Memphis auction two years ago. At that time it brought $4,140, a level that it could reach again. Great signatures are a plus.
