In October 2006, I auctioned a hoard of Eads notes from both banks. Up until then, large size examples from this bank were exceedingly difficult, if not impossible to find. I can't find even one example ever having been offered publicly prior to 2006. The Kelly census lists only three pieces, without serial numbers, and with a cryptic notation "RWS". I would say the five examples offered in that sale will have to satisfy collectors for some time to come. This note, the best one from that group, has a tight top margin, as did all five from that sale. It is totally original with clear embossing and none of the soft corners or corner folds that plagued some of the other notes in the group. Fantastic pen signatures.
