There were four national banks in Fort Collins and all were prolific issuers. The First National Bank was chartered in 1881 and is well represented in this collection. We begin with one of the rarest types for the state. Just six state issued $10 Series 1875 notes are reported, with this being the latest addition. It is unique for type and denomination for the bank. Only one other First Charter note is known on the bank, and that follows in the next lot. Like many of the notes in this collection, this example has great color and wonderful pen signatures. It was obtained from the extensive Peter Huntoon Collection where it had been cherished for many years. Here is your chance to add your name to a short but illustrious pedigree.
