Comments: The "bon A tier" impression is the impression that the artist's chooses to be the standard for the edition after one or more trial proofs are pulled by the printer for the artist's inspection. Once he has chosen the "bon a tier", the printer is held to matching the character and quality of the impression to all subsequent impressions printed for the regular edition. It is probably the impression most studied and admired by the artist therefore marking it "bon a tirer".,
