Pair of Scrimshaw Painted Swordfish Bill Crossed Swords, American, 19th century sailors' art, with elaborate polychrome-painted decoration on the swordfish bills, consisting of U.S. shields, breasted spread-winged eagles clutching olive branches and arrows, over draped 13-star flags and swordfish drawings, each terminating with a U.S. shield of a single star at tip. Each with carved and painted wood hilt; 34.25" long.
