Assembled Set of Eight Hitchcock-Type Chairs, American, ca 1825-32, some rosewood grained painted and stencil decorated, each with pillow and ring crest rail above deep peaked splats with fruit and flower filled urn motif, the rush seats within a conforming frame over ring turned legs tapering to button feet. With gilt highlights overall; 17" to 18" seat height, 33" to 35" overall height. See Kenney 1971: 169-171.
