Two American Pottery Co. Hound Handle Pitchers, American, ca 1840-45, of Rockingham glazed stoneware, both with dark brown glaze on the exterior and putty colored glaze on the interior. The neck and shoulders have undulating vines and grape clusters, and a boar and stag hunt are depicted on the body of the pitcher. Both with impressed circular mark American/Pottery/Co./Jersey City N.J.; 11" and 9.5" high to top of handles; 10" and 9.25" high to top of spout. Smaller has hairline at rear under handle extending into bottom.
