Autograph Letter Signed, "William Kelly" 3p. quarto, Camp Alleghany, March 18, 1862, with cover addressed to a female friend in Virginia with green Jeff Davis with manuscript cancel, it reads in part: "..we have to work on the fortifications...The old General [Edward Johnson] was riding around this evening and they did not please him and he is going to put us at them tomorrow again to finish them the way he wants them...Old Jeff feeds us well...the boys are telling some of their long yarns. I would very much like to be in Rockbridge now...we have some very good times then again we have some very hard times..." VG.
