Blakey and a shot gun, includes: Receipt, 1p. oblong octavo, reads "Recd May 8th 1862 of AR Blakey one double barrel shot gun valued at thirty dollars to be paid for by Capt. A.Q.M. Trent 2nd Va. Cavalry for the Confederate Army. John W. Johnston st Lt. Co. F. 2nd Va. Cavalry." Good...plus; Partly-printed Document Signed, being an official Confederate States of America receipt for "1 double barrel shot gun" valued at $30 of A.R. Blakey. About VG...plus; Manuscript Document Signed by Walter Taylor, Treasury Department, March 2, 1863, addressed to Blakey and reads "Your claim against the Confederate States for one Double Barrel Shot Gun amounting to 30 Dollars was this day taken up for Examination. The said claim is not certified to by any officer of the C.S. Service and it is necessary before it can be allowed that it should be so certified by some Commissions Officer, Ordnance Officer or Quartermaster stating that said Gun has been used in the Service of the Army of the Confederate States..."
