Partly-printed Document Signed, "P.B. Borst" and "W.S. Downeer Supt. of Armories" 1p. folio, February 14, 1863, Richmond, Virginia, and reads in part: "...This Agreement....between P.B. Borst of Luray, Page Co., Virginia of the first part, and W.S. Downer Superintendent of Armories on behalf of the Confederate States of America, of the second part - WITNESSETH, that the party of the first part agrees to furnish to the party of the second part, at the Ordnance Depot, Richmond, Five thousand Briddles (5000) to be made after the ‘Cattrel’ pattern deported to the Depot at the price of eleven dollars each, Also: Two thousand Halters at seven dollars and fifty cents each. The Bridles to be delivered at the rate of 1250 per month at least and contract therefor to be completed against he 31st of June next. The Halters to be delivered at the rate of 500 per month, all to be subject to inspection and approval of the proper officers..." VG.
