A rare Confederate war-date runaway slave notice, 1p. oblong 8vo., written in ink by a certain Jack Hall, Salisbury, [N. C.], Dec. 29, 1864 to Mr. H. Reynolds, reading, in part: "…please do all you can to catch my boy Henry, as I am offering $1000 reward for him. Let me hear from you by return mail…". Late war-date runaway slave notices are seldom encountered in the marketplace due to the fact that most Southern slave owners were cognizant of the fact that the war was lost and with their institution of human bondage. Light stains, else very good.
