Autograph Letter Signed, "By Order Jas. R. Hall Lt. Col. & 13th [West] Va." 1p. quarto, Head Quarters Pt. Pleasant, Va. ,September 17, 1862, addressed to Lt. L. Warpole, and reads "You will immediately proceed to Buffalo and take from the Mill of Dr. Petral the Ciglender Head & Throttle Valve so as to prevent the use of the mill by the forces of the enemy. But you are postively prohibited from running or destroying the mill or any other private property..." VG.
