Autograph Letter Signed, "Alexander Henry" as Mayor of Philadelphia, 2p. octavo, on Office of the Mayor of the City of Philadelphia lettersheet, January 1, 1862, addressed to General Wool, it reads "Miss Henrietta B. Horner, whose family reside in Salem, Fauquier Co. Virginia, has, whilst upon a visit to her relatives in the city, been prevented from returning home by the state of the country. Information brought to her of the illnes of a brother has greatly increased her anxiety to rejoin her family. From a person acquaintance with this young lady I can give assurance of her loyalty and can, without hesitation, advise that her return home would in no wise prejudice the cause of our Union..." VG.
