Autograph Letter by George M. Morrison, 141st New York Infantry, 4p. octavo, Lookout Gap, Tennessee, December 25, 1863, and reads in part: "...I woke up about two oclock this mroning and lay awake sometime thinking of home and loved ones, when T. Cotton woke and got up and went out to look at the weather, when he came in he said I wish you a Merry Christmas, and built a good warm fire and layed down again and as it got warmer we dropped to sleep and had a good nap but was woke up very uncerimoniously by the cry of fire and Cotton got up on end and said Geo. the tent is a fire and I sprang to my feet and snatched the tent cloth off the ridgepole in les time than I am writing this sentence..."
