Autograph Letter Signed, 4p. octavo, pencil, On Picket in Falls Church, Virginia, Novemeber 1, 1863, with cover addressed to his sister in New York, and reads in part: "...I am with my Co. wich is encamped about one mile from here...Col. Robert Fauquier who fell while nobly leading his Reg to a charge at the Battle of [?]...Our business here is to protect the citizens from Mosby’s Raids no longer ago than last Sunday he was due on this [?] church with a few of his guerrillas, we went outlast Tuesday & captured a couple of horses he had left behind him.
