Manuscript Document Signed, 2p. quarto, Headquarters 3d Army Corps, Culpepper, Virginia, September 20, 1863, being Special Orders No. 157, and reads in part: "...The Major General Commanding the Corps directs that the attention of every officer of your department be called to the necessity of doubling up teams during the temporary halts on the road. ...This doubling of trains should not be restricted to the heads of Divisions or Brigades but at every point on the line of march when practicable care being taken that the return to the road is of easy access..."
