Return Of Deceased Soldiers For German Legion Infa

A great partly-printed war-date quarterly return of deceased soldiers, 1p. oblong large folio, Morris Island, [Charleston Harbor], S. C., Sept. 30, 1863 listing the names of twelve sergeants, corporal and private of the Enfants Perdus New York Independent Infantry Battalion who died during the summer of 1863. Interestingly, five of the men were killed in action on Morris Island during that time while one man was "sun struck" and the rest succumbed to disease. Signed by Major Michael Schmitt as commander of the regiment. Minor soiling, else very good.
