Leppien, Capt Cmdg, Chief of Artilley," Head Quarters 2nd Division, Camp at Bealeton Sation Va., November 12, 1862, General order No5. which defines the siezure of private property for personal use as theft. Leppien served the Maine 1st Light Artillery, KIA at Chancelorsville, died of wounds on 5/24/1863.
