Righting a Wrong in Tennessee

Manuscript Special Orders Signed, "J.W. Barnes" Asst. Adjt. Genl, "By Order of Brig. Genl. G.M. Dodge" 1p. quarto, Head Quarters, Left Wing, 16th A.C., Pulaski, Tennessee, February 15, 1864, and reads in part: "...It having been ascertained taht the following named citizens were engaged in breaking up and driving out of this country Mr. J. W. Waldron, a staunch Union man and that they purchased a portion of his goods, when publicly sold by a band of guerillas, under the lead of one Capt. Emerson; it is hereby ordered that they pay to Col. J.B. Weaver 2nd Reg.t Iowa Infty. Vols. Comdg Post of Pulaski, the sums set opposite their names respectively, and that Col. Weaver trun over to the said J.W. Waldron or his family the amount so collected, and make report of the same in compliance with Genl. Orders No. 4, 1863 Hd. Qrs. Military Division of the Mississippi.
