A nice hardbound Union regimental history of the role the 71st New York State Militia played during the battle of 1st Bull Run, entitled: "A REMINISCENCE of the FIRST BATTLE OF MANASSAS: A CAMP-FIRE STORY of the SEVENTY-FIRST REGIMENT, N. G. S. N. Y. by WILLIAM DUFF TELFER", published by John Lee, Strand, London and by the author, Brooklyn, 1864, totaling 58 pages. Private Telfer begins his story by printing the battle report of Col. Henry P. Martin and including a "ROLL OF HONOR" that lists the many killed and wounded of the regiment in the epic battle. Ex-MOLLUS (Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States) division of the State of Illinois Commandry. Seldom encountered in the marketplace. Light wear affecting the spine and covers otherwise tight, else very good.
