Manuscript Letter Signed, "G. Welles" as Secretary of the Navy, 1p. quarto, on "Navy Department" stationary, Washington, June 16, 1865, addressed to Worcester Haddock, Late Act. 3d Asst Engineer, U.S. N., Mississippi Squadron, and reads "your services being no longer required, yoru appointment as an Acting Third Assistant Engineer in the Navy of the United States, on temporary service, is hereby revoked..." Countersigned "Flag Ship Tempest, June 20th/65 S.P. Lee Admil. Comdg." VG.
