A lot of two pieces including WILLIAM CATHCART (1745-1845), British officer serving in the American Revolution at Forts Clinton & Montgomery Monmouth Court House, and Savannah. Partial A.L.S. 2pp. on trimmed 12mo sheets, [n.p., n.d.], concerning a loan. Trimming results in the loss of text. Together with ROBERT WALPOLE (1701-1751) Eldest son of Prime Minister Robert Walpole. His signature "Oxford" on a 12mo slip removed from a document, [London] May 12, 1747, also signed by HENRY FOX (1705-1774), as Lord of the Treasury, RICHARD ARUNDELL (d. 1759), and GEORGE LITTLETON as Chancellor of the Exchequer. Mounted to a larger sheet. Two pieces, very good.
