BRECKENRIDGE, James (March 7, 1763 – May 13, 1833) was a Virginia lawyer and politician. He served in the Virginia House of Delegates, as well as the U.S. House of Representatives. He was also fought in the American Revolutionary War and served as a brigadier-general during the War of 1812. Autograph Letter Signed, "James Breckenridge" 1p. quarto, Washington, December 17, 1809, with integral leaf addressed to John Woodward of New York, and reads "The enclosed letter from your Brother Silvester was this moment recd with a request taht I should forward it to you & give him your address. While I remain here, I will with pleasure receive & forward any communications you may have to make to him & I have [?] him to use the same channel..." VG.
