A nice crisp war-date CDV of Union Major General John Sedgwick (1827-1864) seated and showing a white bandage wrapping his wrist after the joint was broken by a bullet during the battle of Antietam. During that epic battle he was wounded three times, but the broken wrist sent him to the rear after he was unable to control his horse. Later he was killed in action during the battle of Spotsylvania by a sharpshooter's bullet. Published by Anthony from Brady negative, New York. Upper corners slightly chipped, else very good.
