Pair of Autograph Letters Signed, "J.F. Cravens" U.S. Indian Agent, each 1p. quarto, on Cheyenne River Indian Agency lettersheet, Dakota Territory, December 27, 1876 and February 19, 1877, addressed to W.T. Hughes U.S. Ind. Agent, Standing Rock Agency D.T., with the first reading in part: "...In reply to yours of the 11th inst. inquiring if Mrs. Grey Hair and son have drawn ammenities at this Agency, I have to inform you that they have not as any goods have not been issued yet..." VG. And the second reading in part: "...In reply to yours of the 25th Ultimo. asking that I take steps to have a way on loaned by ‘Two Bears’ to Antoine Clement returned, I will inform you that Clement is now at Fort Randall, and that as son as he returns I will insist on the immediate return of the wagon referred to. It might be advisable for ‘Two Bears" to come here so as to identify the wagon, and leave Clement no excuse for its non-delivery..." VG. (2 items)
