Manuscript Document Signed, "Flying Woman" with her "X" mark, 1p. folio, Standing Rock Agency, October 25, 1880, and reads " ‘Flying Woman’ a Uncapapa states taht a man by the name of William Daily a teamster employed by the military authorities at Fort Yates; about two weeks ago came to her lodge about dark, cand asked to stay all night with her. She refused, but Daily insisted on sleeping with her; the Indians that wer in the lodge then ran out, being afraid of him, Daily then picked up a red Indian blanket belonging to Flying Woman and went away with it and has so far declined to return it. Wherefore she requests the Indian authorities at Standing Rock to endeavor to procure the blanket belonging to her, that she may obtain it. The above statement being interpreted to Flying Woman she declares all the facts to be true, and certifiy to the fact by making her mark..." VG.
