A field study in oil on canvas by Robert H. Dick (St. Louis, 20th C), signed lower right and titled 'Frank Pelero in The Mountains' on the reverse. A letter with this piece explains that the work was done near Taos on one of several trips that the artist would take on horseback with men of the Taos Pueblo. These natives always wore "...traditional light blanket sheets purchased in town from J.C. Penney's....I was always fascinated by the play of the wind with those blankets...". Measures 8" tall by 10" wide, framed to 11" tall by 13" wide.
