Richard Nixon, 2 typed letters, signed, on White House letterhead to Daniel Patrick Moynihan, concerning the end of the Vietnam War. Secretarial signatures "RN". 1) 1 p TLS, February 1, 1973, in part: "A long and difficult testing of our national spirit has ended, and we can own turn with renewed hope and optimism toward the building of a lasting era of world peace…"; 2) 2 p TLS, February 15, 1973, in part: "…January was a month devoted almost totally to the final push for peace. It was also an extremely delicate as well as difficult period, and I can only trust that the results make the best explanations and actions the best reassurances for Congress, the country, and concerned friends like yourself…" Size: 7" x 10 1/2".
