All surfaces covered in elm burl with ebonized highlights, the fitted bank of 8 small upper drawers flank a central door on a setback top, the top drawer of the lower section pulls to reveal a leather covered gilt trimmed writing surface, which is hinged and lifts to be set at an angle, there are additional ink well spaces and pen troughs, the 2 front turned support spindled legs have fluting and applied brass roundels, show a Edwardian influence, the bottom shelf support is backed by a mirror, cabinet measures 28" L x 21" D x 39-1/2" H.
Condition reportHas moderate wear throughout consistent with its age, there are small nicks, scratches and very small areas of early restoration and touch-up, the finish appears to be re-lacquered approximately 30yrs. Previous, the inset leather writing surface appears replaced Mid 20th C., overall a very fine example.
