Exceptional Mid 19th C. Japanese Doctors Doll

Detailed painting of the face dressed in period clothing with glass painted eyes,has genitalia which probably was used by doctors of the time period so that the children can show them where the problem is, 18"H.
Provenance: This doll was given to a doctor who served the Royal Japanese family in the mid to late 19th C.Very well done with exceptional detail and quality.

One of the fingers on the other hand is broken and one is cracked. The left foot Also, has a chip on the pinky toe and another has some chipping. On the right foot the big toe is chipped and two other toes have some light scuffing.
