Possibly Jose Reyes (1902-1980) Jose Reyes was the first nantucket basketmaker to make a womans purse around 1948 Oval form with a hand carved ivory whale mounted on a walnut plaque,ivory latch and handle pegs, securing swing handle, overall measurement with handle up is 12" H x 9-1/2" L x 7" D.

Minor wear with one tiny hole.
