STAMPED "E. SUTER", ROCKINGHAM CO., VA DECORATED SALT-GLAZED STONEWARE CROCK, "1" gallon capacity stamp, maker's stamp with star to right and enclosed in an elongated serrated-edge frame, straight-sided form with slight shoulder, squared rim, and deeply incised shoulder ring, simple brushed cobalt feather decoration below rim. Attributed to Emanuel Suter, New Erection Pottery. 1870-1890. 9 3/4" h, 6" dia rim.
