STAMPED "HUGH SMITH&CO." ALEXANDRIA, VA SALT-GLAZED STONEWARE JUG, incised "3" gallon capacity, name stamp within a serrated rectangular box, early ovoid form with high mouth and medial-groove handle, incised shoulder ring, wire cut-off rings under base with a large incised "&" figure. 1822-1825. 16" h, 7 1/4" dia base.
