SLIP-DECORATED LEAD-GLAZED EARTHENWARE DISH, buff clay body with a flattened-edge everted rim, double booge, and pronounced foot, yellow, green and red-brown slip decoration over a dark brown slip base, the center featuring a large eight-petal flower with dotted center surrounded by fern plumes, the shoulder with a dotted wavy line band. Possibly Salem or Wachovia area of North Carolina. Second half 18th century. 2 1/2" h, 13 1/4" dia.
