NEW MARKET, VA LEAD-GLAZED EARTHENWARE LIDDED JAR, wide squat form with rolled rim and two flat tab handles on shoulder, original slightly domed lid with button-like finial. Probably John Coffman, possibly John G. Schweinfurt. Third quarter 19th century. 9" h overall, 7 1/2" h rim, 5 3/8" dia rim, 8 1/4" dia base.

Condition reportVery good as-found condition, some light wear and flaking to glaze, two small firing separations at base, 1 1/2" V-shape piece cleanly broken out of lid rim which needs to be glued
