EMANUEL SUTER (ATTRIBUTED), ROCKINGHAM CO., VA DECORATED SALT-GLAZED STONEWARE CROCK, "1" within a dotted oval capacity stamp on top of rim, wide-mouth form with flattened rim and two medial incised rings, large brushed cobalt "R" on front, possibly for Reuben Suter, additional simple cobalt decoration on reverse. Attributed to Emanuel Suter, New Erection Pottery. 1870-1890. 8" h, 8 1/4" dia rim.
