HARRIET BUCHANAN, MID-ATLANTIC NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER, four line verse above a central reserve with "The Work of Harriet / Buchanan Daughter / of Archibald & / Delilah Buchanan / Born September 10, / 1817. July 12, 1829", surrounded by potted flowers, trees, animals, and hearts, two double-chimney two-story houses and trees across the lower section, all within a vine border. Second quarter 19th century. 16" x 17".

Note: Preliminary research has discovered that Archibald and Delilah Sutton Buchanan were married July 20, 1811, in Hunterdon Co., NJ. Harriet was their third child but a place of birth has not been located.

Good overall condition with one small hole and some thinness to foundation, loss to some stitching in upper verse, small separations/holes at edges where previously tacked down
