"Annie Maria Susanne Downe born May 1st 1770 died April 17th 1856" on stretcher verso, copy of a late 18th/early 19th century portrait of child in an interior holding a bouquet of flowers, signed lower right "B.J.M.D.", oil on canvas, inscribed verso canvas "Mrs. Davis Thorpe as a child" with London colourman stamp, late 19th/early 20th century copy, 26 x 18-1/2 in; gilt wood and composition frame. Original stretcher and tacking edge, crackle, cupping, number appears under signature in ultraviolet light, light points of retouch, flaking; frame with flaking and retouch.
