mahogany with yellow pine and poplar secondary, line inlaid top, bow front long drawer over two cabinet doors flanked by cabinet doors, all with distinctive quarter fan inlays, pentagonal legs with liberty cap(?) inlay with gold applied cuffs, single board yellow pine back with undisturbed rosehead nails, early label on laid paper on backboard illegibly inscribed "…Furniture Claremont(?)", Southern states, possibly Virginia, 1790-1820, 38-1/4 x 71 x 25 in. Brasses replaced, old refinishing with scattered cracks and scratches, minor losses to veneers, two small losses to molding on feet, very minor foot patches, surface shadows and tack holes from applied mounts now removed, other scattered flaws.
