figured mahogany, mahogany veneers, yellow pine and poplar secondary, upper deep drawer with drop front and fitted interior with nine drawers and seven cubbyholes, one long drawer with indistinct period inscription "E. Cay…", one drawer with pasted label inscribed "Purchased November 15…Auction Rooms…price $66", drawer also inscribed "Finished by John C. Yost, July 1929…Balt. City", probably Virginia, 1800-1810, 43-1/2 x 41 x 22-1/2 in. Old refinishing, brasses probably replaced (no plugged holes), minor molding repairs, some later screws, most original feet and blocking, one rear foot replaced, one foot with facings pieced 2 in.
