Christ child or John the Baptist, carved and polychromed wood, glass eyes, both 18th century: one 15-/5/8 in., mounted on later wood block, [loss of four digits to proper right hand and one to proper left hand, chipping and flaking of paint, grime, possible areas of resurfacing, neck repaired, abrasions;] one with some composition, 25 in., [loss of one digit to proper left hand, three to proper right hand, loss of proper left foot, arms unattached but present, lacking proper right glass eye, abrasions, chipping and flaking of paint, grime, loss of composition to hair, 4-1/2 in. split in wood middle back.] Provenance: North Carolina Private Collection
