child and woman seated in Empire dress on loggia, pastel on paper, laid down on card mounted on stretcher, inscription verso "Mag…gold(?)", 18-3/4 x 15-1/4 in.; early 19th century Empire gilt wood and composition fluted molding frame with square corners with floral boss decoration. Hole at bottom, 7 in. tear to top with retouch, retouch to face, neck, chest; frame with original surface with minor losses to gilding. Provenance: Property Deaccessioned from a South Carolina Museum
