gentleman in blue jacket, 1796, signed lower right "…e Longastre, 179…", attributed to De Longastre, French, died 1798, pastel on paper, 24-1/2 x 20-1/4 in. (sight); original 18th century gilt wood oval frame with original glass. Minor pastel loss at edges, possible mildew spots, not examined out of frame; frame with chips and flaking. Provenance: Historic Beaufort Foundation, from the Estate of Dr. Mark Sheppard, St. Petersburg, Florida; Property Deaccessioned from a South Carolina Museum
